E. Howard Hunt is dead. More later.

Former Watergate figure Everett Howard Hunt is dead.

I'll write more about Hunt in the days to come. Whole books have been written about Hunt (two by himself). I won't attempt any such feat in this small space. But after reading the conventional accounts presented by the AP, the Los Angeles Times, and other sources, I can assure you some Real History is missing.

I want to fill you in on some of the more interesting--and least reported--episodes from Hunt's life.

Stay tuned.

I cant wait. Ironic that he was just mentioned recently with blaming LBJ for the JFK assasination. Considering that Hunt stated just 2 years ago that he quit the CIA because "it was filled with Democrats", and the fact that he still takes the "no comment" approach to Phillips and Novel, I still don't believe him.

Exactly. He'd support any theory that pointed the finger of blame away from the CIA. LBJ himself thought the CIA killed Kennedy.

I need more time!! Not enough hours in the day to write what I want..!

Lisa,

Have you read "The Yankee and the Cowboy War" by Carl Oglesby? and, if so, what did you think of the book?

Personally, I love how he connects Watergate to Dallas and the Dorothy Hunt plane crash.

Although so much has been discovered since the mid-70s when the book was published, I think much Oglesby's framwork of a power struggle between elites has been further illuminated. Any thoughts?

The story goes that his wife Dorothy was assassinated, along with a planeload of other people, to keep her from spilling the beans.

I concurred with mondo ..
I can't wait!"

I also concur on EHH, but... having watched the tape of LBJ's comment about who killed JFK, it came off like a typical insincere, politically-motivated effort to deflect the blame. I came away from it more convinced that both are culpable. (Though the proof in the case of the CIA is easy to see, while that against LBJ is a bit more elusive.)

Have you seen how many mainstream comics have drawn up cartoons of Ford in heaven? It's truly unbelievable.

Also, I heard Dave Emory do a pretty good job on Ford this week. Check out his podcast. Looks like I'll have to dig up some of Mae's broadcasts from 74 and 75.
